The federal Govt has revised the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for August 12. Both fuel rates were changed under the latest adjustment.
The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 0.94 per litre. It now stands at Rs. 324.98 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs. 0.54 per litre. Its new price is Rs. 382.79 per litre.
The latest adjustment follows another change announced on Tuesday. Petrol had been reduced by Rs. 1.70 per litre during that revision.
At the same time, diesel had become more expensive by Rs. 1.39 per litre. Its price had increased from Rs. 380.86 to Rs. 382.25 per litre.
The latest decision means petrol prices have continued to decline. Diesel prices, however, have moved higher again.
Petrol and Diesel Prices
The Govt has been revising fuel prices frequently under the current pricing system. The latest figures show different trends for petrol and diesel.
On August 10, petrol was priced at Rs. 327.62 per litre. Diesel was also priced at Rs. 380.86 per litre.
Petrol had reached Rs. 329.82 per litre on August 6. Diesel stood at Rs. 383.36 per litre on the same day.
The highest diesel price listed during the period was Rs. 393.04 per litre. This rate was recorded on July 30.
Diesel was also priced at Rs. 392.38 per litre on July 31. Prices later declined before rising again during the latest revisions.
Petrol also recorded significant changes during the period. It stood at Rs. 336.03 per litre on July 31.
The fuel rates have changed considerably since daily pricing began. Petrol has increased by Rs. 13.58 per litre overall.
Diesel has recorded a much larger increase. Its price has risen by Rs. 55.60 per litre since the start of daily fuel pricing.
Before daily pricing began, petrol was priced at Rs. 310.71 per litre. Diesel was available at Rs. 323.30 per litre during July 11 to 17.
Latest Fuel Price Trend
The latest figures show a mixed trend in fuel prices. Petrol has become cheaper during recent adjustments.
Diesel, meanwhile, remains significantly more expensive than its earlier level. Its latest price is Rs. 382.79 per litre.
The Govt is continuing to monitor and revise fuel rates under the current pricing mechanism. Daily adjustments can lead to frequent changes for consumers.
Fuel prices directly affect transportation and operating costs. Changes in diesel prices can also influence the cost of goods and services.
