A high-level security meeting has been held in Islamabad to discuss arrangements for the proposed transfer of PTI founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to a private hospital, according to sources.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from relevant institutions as authorities prepare to implement the Supreme Court’s order regarding Khan’s transfer.
Officials discuss transfer arrangements
According to sources, officials discussed the procedure and security measures required for the safe transfer of Imran Khan to the private hospital.
The arrangements will reportedly be implemented once the relevant authorities receive the Supreme Court’s written order.
The meeting focused on coordination between the institutions responsible for security and other administrative arrangements in Islamabad.
Private hospital to be declared sub-jail
Sources said Imran Khan’s transfer will take place after the Chief Commissioner issues a notification declaring the private hospital a sub-jail.
The notification is considered an important procedural requirement before the transfer can proceed.
Once the written court directions are received and the notification is issued, authorities are expected to move forward with the transfer under the agreed security arrangements.
Security coordination under review
Officials are currently working out the details of the transfer, including security arrangements in the federal capital and coordination between the relevant departments and institutions.
The high-level meeting was held as part of preparations for the implementation of the court’s decision.
Authorities are expected to take further steps after receiving the Supreme Court’s written directions and completion of the sub-jail notification process.
