Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has completed preparations to start direct flights between Lahore and Manchester. The new service will begin on July 2, 2026, providing travelers with a direct air link between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
According to the airline, the first flight on the route will depart from Lahore on July 2. Earlier plans had scheduled the route to begin with a Manchester-to-Lahore flight on July 3. However, PIA has now revised the schedule and decided to launch the service from Lahore instead.
The new route is expected to improve travel convenience for passengers. It will offer a direct connection between the two cities without the need for transit stops. This could help reduce overall travel time for many travelers.
PIA has also announced ticket prices for the Lahore-Manchester service. A one-way Economy Class ticket has been priced at approximately Rs. 155,000. Passengers choosing Economy Plus can expect to pay up to Rs. 270,000 for a one-way journey.
For round-trip travel, Economy Class fares have been set at up to Rs. 350,000. Meanwhile, passengers traveling in Economy Plus will pay up to Rs. 525,000 for a return ticket.
The airline confirmed that Boeing 777 aircraft will operate on the route. The aircraft is commonly used for long-haul international flights and offers greater passenger capacity. The deployment of Boeing 777 planes is expected to support comfortable travel between Lahore and Manchester.
The launch of the route comes as PIA continues efforts to strengthen its international network. The airline is focusing on improving connectivity between Pakistan and destinations with large overseas Pakistani communities.
Manchester is home to a significant number of Pakistanis living in the United Kingdom. Many travelers frequently visit Pakistan for family, business, education, and personal reasons. The direct service is expected to make travel easier for these passengers.
PIA officials said the route will provide greater convenience and better connectivity for travelers. The service is also expected to strengthen links between Pakistan and the UK by offering a direct travel option.
