NADRA to Close Offices Nationwide for Ashura Holidays

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced that all of its offices and registration centers across Pakistan will remain closed on June 25 and 26, 2026. The closure will be observed in connection with Youm-e-Ashur, which marks the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

According to an official notification, NADRA will suspend public services at all its offices on Thursday and Friday. Citizens planning to visit registration centers are advised to complete urgent tasks before the holidays begin.

The closure will apply to all standard registration centers, regional offices, and service facilities operating under the authority. NADRA said the temporary suspension is part of the nationwide observance of Ashura.

Special arrangements have also been announced for 24-hour service centers. These facilities will stop operations from midnight between June 24 and June 25. Services will remain unavailable throughout the holiday period.

The authority confirmed that all Mega Centers and registration offices will reopen on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Regular business hours and public services will resume on the same day across the country.

Although physical offices will remain closed, citizens can continue to access several services through digital platforms. NADRA has encouraged people to use the Pak ID mobile application during the holidays.

The Pak ID app remains available around the clock and allows users to perform various identity-related tasks remotely. This service helps reduce the need for in-person visits and provides continued access to important facilities during office closures.

The authority said the digital platform can be used for several identity management services. Citizens can submit requests and complete certain processes without visiting a registration center.

Ashura is observed every year across Pakistan and often results in adjusted schedules for government institutions and public offices. Many departments announce temporary closures during this period to facilitate religious observances and public events.

NADRA has advised citizens to plan ahead and avoid last-minute visits before the holidays. Those requiring assistance can contact the authority through its official support channels.

For information and guidance, citizens can call the NADRA helpline at 1777 from their mobile phones. Additional updates and service details are also available on the authority’s official website.
