The Punjab School Education Department has decided to conduct a written examination for the appointment of head teachers in public schools as part of efforts to ensure transparency and merit-based recruitment. The move is aimed at selecting qualified candidates through a standardized assessment process.
According to the department, the examination is being conducted under the supervision of the Punjab Examination Commission Testing Agency (PECTA). Officials stated that the testing process has been designed to strengthen merit and improve the quality of leadership in government schools across the province.
To ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the examination, the department has directed authorities to install CCTV cameras at all examination centers. Officials have also been instructed to guarantee an uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the test duration to avoid disruptions.
In addition, the School Education Department has emphasized the need for reliable internet connectivity and the availability of tablets where required. These measures are intended to support the examination process and ensure that all technical requirements are fulfilled effectively.
The department has further instructed all districts to nominate focal persons responsible for coordination with PECTA. These officials will facilitate communication between district administrations and the testing agency to address any operational issues that may arise during the examination process.
A formal letter has been issued to Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) Education across Punjab, directing them to extend full cooperation for the transparent and efficient conduct of the test. Officials believe the written examination will help identify capable candidates for leadership positions in public schools and contribute to improving educational standards throughout the province.
