AirSial has announced the launch of a new direct flight route between Islamabad and Skardu. The Airline will begin regular operations on the route later this month.
According to the company, the first Islamabad–Skardu flight will operate on May 18. The Airline said the new route will improve travel access to northern Pakistan during the busy tourism season.
The announcement came after the Airline successfully completed test flights to Skardu. Officials confirmed that all operational requirements were fulfilled before approval for commercial services was granted.
AirSial described the new route as an important step in expanding domestic air travel. The Airline said the service will provide passengers with easier access to the mountains, valleys, and tourist attractions of northern Pakistan.
Skardu remains one of the country’s most visited tourist destinations. Thousands of travelers visit the region every year for its scenic landscapes and outdoor tourism activities. The city also serves as a gateway to several famous valleys in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Tourism experts believe the direct flights will help increase visitor numbers during the summer season. Many travelers currently face long road journeys to reach Skardu. The new Airline service is expected to reduce travel time significantly.
The Airline encouraged passengers to book seats early for the inaugural flight. Officials said demand for northern travel destinations usually rises during warmer months.
The new route may also benefit local businesses connected to tourism. Hotels, transport operators, and tour companies in Skardu are expected to see increased activity after the launch of regular flights.
AirSial has continued to expand its domestic network in recent years. The Airline aims to improve connectivity between major cities and tourist destinations across Pakistan.
Industry observers say improved air access can support tourism growth in northern regions. Better flight availability may also encourage more international travelers to explore Pakistan’s mountain areas.
