The Punjab School Education Department has introduced new directives for schools across the province, focusing on strengthening student safety during dismissal hours. Authorities have emphasized strict supervision to ensure that no child is accidentally left behind on school premises after closing time.
According to the official notification, administrators of all schools are now required to carry out thorough inspections of their campuses at the end of each day. This includes carefully checking classrooms, washrooms, science labs, libraries, playgrounds, and any other areas where students might remain unnoticed. The purpose of these checks is to guarantee that every student has safely exited the premises before the school is locked.
In addition to these measures, schools have been instructed to assign a specific teacher or staff member each day—on a rotational basis—to oversee the departure process. This designated individual will be responsible for monitoring student exit and ensuring that all children leave the campus securely. Importantly, the assigned staff member must stay on-site until it is fully confirmed that no student remains inside.
The department has made it clear that heads of schools will be personally accountable for enforcing these safety protocols. Any lapse in following the instructions could lead to serious consequences, highlighting the government’s firm stance on student protection.
These directives apply immediately to both public and private schools throughout Punjab. Authorities have stressed zero tolerance for negligence and have required institutions to submit compliance reports within 24 hours. The initiative reflects a broader effort to improve safety standards and ensure a secure environment for students across all schools in the province.
