Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Nawaf Salam, during which he strongly denounced Israel’s actions against Lebanon. According to a spokesperson from the Prime Minister’s Office, both leaders discussed the ongoing situation, with Shehbaz Sharif expressing deep grief over the loss of thousands of lives.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan remains committed to promoting regional peace and is actively facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States. Nawaf Salam appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and sought its support in helping bring an immediate end to the attacks on Lebanon and its people. Both leaders agreed to stay in close contact moving forward.
In a separate development, the Prime Minister also spoke with Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Bahraini monarch commended Pakistan’s role in helping secure a ceasefire between Iran and the United States, noting that it has improved prospects for lasting peace in the region. Shehbaz Sharif thanked Bahrain for its support and praised the leadership’s restraint during recent tensions.
He also expressed condolences over the loss of lives in Bahrain, extending sympathies to affected families and wishing a swift recovery for the injured. Both sides agreed to continue working together for regional peace and stability.
Additionally, Christian Stocker contacted the Prime Minister to discuss ongoing diplomatic efforts. Shehbaz Sharif recalled their earlier meeting in Vienna and thanked him for supporting Pakistan’s role in facilitating the Iran-US ceasefire and resumption of talks. Both leaders stressed the importance of fully adhering to the ceasefire to ensure long-term peace and stability.
