Actress Momina Iqbal’s sister, Ramsha Iqbal, has claimed that she and Momina Iqbal are facing threats, intimidation and suspicious activity around their residences.
Speaking to reporters at the Punjab Bar Council, Ramsha Iqbal alleged that unidentified individuals were sent to the home of Momina Iqbal’s in-laws during the night. According to her, the government-provided security team acted promptly, forcing the unknown persons to leave before any incident occurred.
Ramsha further stated that similar activity was reported outside her own residence, where unidentified people allegedly appeared late at night. She claimed that both sisters have been subjected to harassment and threats, adding that a formal complaint has already been lodged with the Chuhang police station.
She also maintained that a series of false and baseless allegations have been made against her and Momina Iqbal. According to Ramsha, multiple complaints based on fabricated claims are being filed in different forums. She emphasized that she would continue to defend her sister in all legal matters.
Meanwhile, a disciplinary committee of the Punjab Bar Council heard a petition seeking the suspension of the legal licences of Ramsha Iqbal and lawyer Saqib Chadhar. The four-member committee, led by Chairman Abbas Ali Chadhar, instructed lawyers involved in the matter to avoid discussing the case in the media.
During the proceedings, questions were raised regarding Ramsha Iqbal’s legal status and her time spent in Australia. Committee members asked whether she had informed the Punjab Bar Council about her employment while abroad, as practicing law while employed elsewhere may violate professional regulations.
Responding to the concerns, Ramsha stated that she was studying in Australia and only worked part-time during her free hours. She rejected all allegations against her and demanded documentary evidence to support any claims regarding her employment.
The committee adjourned proceedings, while the dispute involving Momina Iqbal and related legal matters continues to attract public attention.
