Punjab Introduces Digital Skills Training Initiative for Women

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has announced the launch of a dedicated training program designed to equip women with contemporary digital skills and enhance their participation in the technology sector. This initiative aims to create opportunities for women to pursue careers in digital industries and access online employment and freelancing options.

As part of the program, female participants will be offered specialized courses such as E-commerce integrated with AI and AI-powered Digital Marketing with Freelancing. These courses are structured to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, enabling women to gain expertise in high-demand digital fields. Officials highlighted that the program is particularly focused on empowering women to leverage technology for professional growth and economic independence.

The training will be delivered entirely online, allowing participants to learn remotely. Each course will run for a duration of two months and requires a fee of Rs. 25,000. Interested candidates can now apply for admission through the official PITB website, as the registration process has officially begun. This approach ensures that women from across the province can access the program without geographical constraints, broadening participation and promoting inclusivity.

Faisal Yousaf, the chairman of PITB, stated that the initiative is designed to prepare women for the rapidly growing technology and freelancing sectors. He emphasized that the program will not only provide knowledge but also offer hands-on, practical training to ensure that participants develop real-world skills applicable to digital careers.

By launching this initiative, PITB aims to support women in achieving professional development in digital industries, increase female participation in technology-driven fields, and empower them to capitalize on emerging employment opportunities both locally and globally. The program represents a significant step toward bridging the gender gap in Pakistan’s digital economy and fostering sustainable growth through skill development.
