Applications are now open for the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls 2026-27. The program supports Pakistani women seeking higher education in Pakistan.
The scholarship is funded by the Scottish Government and managed in Pakistan by the British Council. It aims to support women who need financial assistance to continue their studies.
The scholarship is available for bachelor’s, master’s and MPhil students. Applicants must be enrolled at or planning to attend an HEC-recognized university in Pakistan.
Bachelor’s students can receive support for programs lasting up to four years. Master’s and MPhil students can receive funding for programs lasting up to two years.
Only Pakistani women living in Pakistan are eligible to apply. There is no age limit for applicants under the scholarship program.
Students who are already enrolled in an eligible degree program can also apply. The scholarship may provide support for their remaining semesters, subject to the program’s conditions.
Women with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Students from rural areas and minority communities are also among the groups encouraged to seek the scholarship.
The program covers selected academic fields, including Education, Sustainable Energy, Food Security and Agriculture, Health Sciences, STEM and Climate Change. Medical Sciences are not included under the Health Sciences category.
Selected scholars can receive financial support for university tuition fees. The scholarship may also cover university hostel costs for eligible students.
Students living in university hostels may receive travel support between their homes and universities twice a year. The exact support will depend on the scholarship terms and eligibility requirements.
Selection will consider both academic performance and financial need. Eligible applicants may be shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process.
Students whose university admission begins after the scholarship deadline may still apply. However, their scholarship may remain conditional until they provide proof of admission.
Applicants can submit their forms online through the British Council Pakistan scholarship system. Separate application forms are available for bachelor’s and master’s or MPhil applicants.
The last date to apply is August 31, 2026. Students interested in the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships should complete their applications before the deadline and carefully review all eligibility requirements.
