Islamabad Airport Launches New Facility for International Travelers

The Islamabad Airport has launched a new currency exchange counter in the international arrivals lounge to improve passenger services.

Officials from the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) said the new facility allows travelers arriving from abroad to exchange foreign currency immediately. Passengers can now obtain local currency without leaving the airport, saving time and providing convenience.

Convenience for Passengers

The initiative is part of the Islamabad Airport’s efforts to enhance passenger experience. Travelers no longer need to search for exchange services outside the airport, making arrivals smoother and more efficient.

Officials emphasized that the counter is designed to serve international travelers and improve overall airport services. This step reflects the PAA’s commitment to modernizing airport facilities and meeting global standards.

Islamabad Airport Earns Skytrax Recognition

Earlier, Islamabad Airport became Pakistan’s first 3-star rated airport according to Skytrax, a global airport ranking company. The rating considered factors such as passenger amenities, airport management, and service quality.

Dubai Airport also holds a 3-star Skytrax rating, while Lahore and Karachi airports retained their 2-star classifications. Authorities say the recognition reflects improvements in infrastructure and services at Islamabad Airport.

Ongoing Improvements

The PAA continues to focus on enhancing facilities and ensuring travelers have a comfortable experience. The new currency exchange counter is part of broader efforts to provide better services to passengers, including improved lounges, check-in facilities, and security processes.

Passengers are encouraged to use the new counter for a smooth and convenient experience upon arrival. The PAA stated that such initiatives demonstrate Islamabad Airport’s commitment to world-class standards and international best practices.
