The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced the registration schedule and examination date for the National Registration Examination (NRE) Step 1 for 2026.
According to an official public notice issued on August 21, the online registration portal for NRE Step 1 will open on August 27, 2026.
Candidates will be able to submit their applications until September 10, 2026. The council has advised applicants to complete the registration process within the given deadline to avoid any last-minute issues.
NRE Step 1 Exam on October 11
PMDC has scheduled the NRE Step 1 examination for Sunday, October 11, 2026.
The examination will be conducted by the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS), Rawalpindi, which has been assigned responsibility for holding the test.
The NRE is an important examination for medical graduates seeking registration and recognition to practise medicine in Pakistan.
Registration Schedule Announced
The online registration portal will remain open from August 27 to September 10.
Candidates interested in appearing in the examination should complete their applications during this period and carefully provide all required information.

With the examination scheduled for October 11, applicants will have several weeks after the registration deadline to prepare for the test.
