The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 102 commercial properties across Lahore on Friday for failing to pay commercialization fees, penalties, and violating regulations.
According to an LDA spokesperson, enforcement teams took action in areas including Faisal Town, New Garden Town, Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad, Lahore Avenue Scheme near Pine Avenue, and New Defence Road. The sealed properties comprised private schools, colleges, academies, clinics, pharmacies, grocery stores, restaurants, property offices, food outlets, beauty salons, and auto workshops.
Meanwhile, district authorities intensified market monitoring to provide relief to citizens by controlling prices of essential commodities. Officials visited the Harbanspura Ramazan Sahulat Bazaar and Singhpura Vegetable Market to review supply, demand, pricing trends, and the bidding process.
Market Committee officials reported that effective administrative measures reduced prices compared to last year, with local garlic down by Rs. 380 per kg, onions by Rs. 30 per kg, and potatoes by up to Rs. 35 per kg. In Ramazan bazaars, 10-kg flour bags were available for Rs. 850 and sugar for Rs. 140 per kg, with adequate stock and no shortages.
