Karachi is set to witness a historic rally led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Sunday, January 11. The public gathering will take place at Mazar-e-Quaid at 4:30 pm, ahead of PTI’s planned street movement for February 8.

CM Afridi stated that the rally aims to spread the message of jailed PTI founder Imran Khan throughout Sindh. He urged citizens to support the party in preparing for the upcoming political activities. “We will hold the largest rally in Karachi’s history,” he said.

Confirming the rally, KP CM’s aide on information, Shafi Jan, said Afridi will also meet Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah on Monday. During his Sindh visit, Afridi will meet party leadership at Insaf House, visit the press club, and address the Sindh High Court Bar.

Afridi’s visit includes trips to prison facilities in Karachi’s District South, Korangi, and Malir to meet inmates. On Saturday, he will also travel to Hyderabad to address the Hyderabad Bar, press club, and attend ISF Convention and party cabinet meetings.

The PTI has formally requested permission to hold the rally at Bagh-e-Jinnah near Mazar-e-Quaid. Raja Azhar, Karachi Region PTI President, assured authorities that the gathering will remain peaceful and follow the code of conduct.

This historic rally comes as part of PTI’s ongoing street movement organized by Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aeen-Pakistan (TTAP). The alliance is focusing on mobilization linked to the second anniversary of the February 8, 2024, elections.

During CM Afridi’s previous visits, political activities in Punjab led to controversy. He lodged a protest regarding the alleged ill-treatment during his assembly visit, highlighting tensions between the PTI and Punjab authorities.

Sindh officials have assured full facilitation for Afridi’s visit. Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon stated that the KP CM will have the liberty to move freely and participate in political events while adhering to the law. The provincial government will also ensure security and proper protocol during his activities.

The upcoming historic rally is expected to draw large crowds, highlighting the PTI’s ongoing political engagement in Sindh. Authorities are coordinating to manage public movement and traffic while allowing the rally to proceed smoothly.

This event underscores the growing political momentum ahead of February 8 and reflects PTI’s strategy to strengthen its street-level support in major cities like Karachi. The PTI recently held a historic virtual rally despite an internet blockade, drawing attention nationwide.  Read more about PTI’s major political events, including the upcoming historic rally in Karachi led by KP CM.
