Youtube introduces new feature that you are going to love

Being the adored offspring of Google, YouTube is constantly experimenting with new features for the website. These planned additions are frequently teased in advance, and paying customers can even test them out before they are released to the general public.

In keeping with tradition, YouTube is currently experimenting with a number of new features, some of which have already been published.

Press and Hold for 2x

YouTube is experimenting with a number of beneficial features, one of which is the option to watch videos at a 2x speed. Currently, selecting playback speed from a video’s gear icon gives you the option to set the pace at which you want the video to playback. But with an impending update, this will alter.

With this update, pressing and holding anywhere on the screen while watching a video will allow you to easily increase the playback speed to 2x. You should be able to watch longer films much more quickly now.

Lock Screen

Other enhancements will be included in this release as well. This function, as the name implies, allows you to lock the screen to avoid inadvertent touches that could pause or play a video unintentionally. Lock Screen may be accessed by selecting ‘Lock Screen’ from the gear icon.

This will, of course, only be available on smartphones and tablets.

This should be ideal for when you need to hand your phone to a kid or entertain a pet for a while.

Bigger view

YouTube launched seeking previews a while ago, which allow you to discover the exact moment you’re looking for when scrolling through a video. However, because these previews are so little, it can be difficult to discover the proper moments in some videos.

As a result, YouTube will shortly make these previews larger.

As previously stated, if you are a YouTube Premium subscriber, you can already try all of these experimental features. However, there is no clear indication of when these upgrades will be available to the broader public.
