Shockingly Nust’s 67 Faculty Member Resigned In A Month

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Investigative journalist Riaz ul Haq, who also served as a former faculty member, recently disclosed that within the last month, a total of 67 faculty members have tendered their resignations at the esteemed National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), with 22 of them belonging to the NUST Business School (NBS).

The mass departure is attributed to several factors, including inadequate salaries, nepotism, and a disheartening administrative atmosphere.

To compound matters, the university’s Rector, Lt Gen (r) Javed Bukhari, faced probing questions at an event. In response, he suggested that if individuals encountered better opportunities elsewhere, they might choose to leave. During his speech, Rector Bukhari also expressed an intention to scrutinize underperforming faculty members, a statement that drew attention to his choice of language.

Despite being called out for his words, he remained steadfast in his commitment to using the same terminology. This has led to a growing sense of frustration among the staff, who perceive that they are subject to authoritarian rule.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
