The City Traffic Police have announced a detailed traffic plan for Eid-ul-Azha in Rawalpindi. The plan aims to ensure smooth traffic flow near cattle markets. It also focuses on public convenience during Eid shopping.
Authorities said multiple cattle markets have been set up across Rawalpindi district. A total of eight markets are operational this year. Two markets are located inside the city. The remaining six are in different tehsils.
The traffic police have deployed over 81 officers to manage traffic. These personnel will be stationed around busy market areas. Their main task is to control congestion and guide vehicles.
In addition, four vehicle lifters have been assigned duties in Rawalpindi. These lifters will remove illegally parked vehicles. This step is meant to keep roads clear and traffic moving smoothly.
Inside Rawalpindi city, cattle markets are located at Bhata Chowk and Mouza Raniyal. These areas are expected to see heavy traffic during Eid shopping days.
In nearby regions, markets have also been set up in Gujar Khan, Taxila, Kallar Syedan, and Kahuta. In Gujar Khan, markets are located on Gulyana Road near the slaughterhouse and at Rawat Police Station.
In Taxila, cattle markets are operating at HIT Timber Market and near Sharif Hospital on GT Road. In Kallar Syedan, the market is located at Bypass Chowk. In Kahuta, it is on Sakhi Sabzwari Tangi Road.
Chief Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam said citizens will not face major travel issues in Rawalpindi. He added that traffic flow will be monitored continuously.
He also stated that parking on main roads will not be allowed under any circumstances. Strict action will be taken against violators.
Public awareness messages are also being shared through announcements and public address systems. These messages guide people about parking rules and traffic routes.
The CTO said additional staff will be deployed if crowds increase. The traffic system will remain flexible during peak hours.

Authorities have requested citizens in Rawalpindi to cooperate with traffic police. They emphasized that cooperation will help ensure safe and smooth movement during Eid-ul-Azha activities.
