RAWALPINDI: The Cantonment Board Rawalpindi has finalized arrangements for the collection of offal from sacrificial animals and the cleaning of sacrificial sites and streets during Eidul Azha. The board has set a response time of 30 minutes for the collection of animal entrails and solid waste as part of its Eid cleaning operation.

At a press conference, Additional Executive Officers Haider Shuja and Hameer Mehboob revealed that a control room has been established to oversee the sanitation system during the three days of Eid. The Cantonment has been divided into 10 wards, each managed separately for efficient cleaning.

The operation will involve 110 heavy vehicles and a workforce of 700 employees, with all staff holidays canceled to ensure full participation. Additional vehicles have been arranged to safely dispose of offal.

A Central Complaints Cell has also been set up at the Cantt Board office, operational 24/7, to handle offal collection. The offal will be transported to a designated rush point before being taken to a dumping ground for safe disposal.

Under the sanitation plan, 596 sanitary workers, 19 sanitary supervisors, a Chief Public Health Officer, a Public Health Officer, and three sanitary inspectors will be on duty. Each ward supervisor is responsible for ensuring timely cleaning, phenyl and acid washing, and lime sprinkling at the main sacrificial site within their ward.
