Rain Forecast Issued for Several Parts of Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast Rain in many parts of the country from July 6 to July 8. The weather department said moist currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, along with an approaching westerly wave, will bring widespread rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds to several regions.

According to the PMD, moist currents from the Arabian Sea are continuously affecting the upper parts of Pakistan. At the same time, moist air from the Bay of Bengal is expected to reach northeastern areas from the evening of July 6. A westerly weather system is also likely to enter the upper regions within the next 12 hours.

Officials said these weather systems will increase the chances of Rain across northern and central Pakistan. Some areas may also receive isolated heavy rainfall during the forecast period.

In Kashmir, scattered rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms are expected in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur. These conditions are likely to continue from the night of July 6 until July 8, with occasional breaks.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also expected to receive widespread rainfall. Areas including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Nowshera, Charsadda, Karak, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Swabi, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, and Hangu are likely to experience rain and thunderstorms between July 6 and July 8.

The PMD has also forecast rain for Waziristan, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan on July 7 and July 8.

Punjab and Islamabad are expected to receive scattered rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms during the same period. The forecast covers Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Kasur, Sargodha, Okara, Sahiwal, and several other districts.

Additional Rain is expected in southern Punjab, including Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noor Pur Thal, and Mianwali on July 7 and 8.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected in Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar during July 7 and 8.

Balochistan is also likely to receive isolated showers. The forecast includes Zhob, Sherani, Kohlu, Musakhel, Naseerabad, Harnai, Sibbi, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, and Khuzdar from the night of July 7 through July 8.

Meanwhile, Sindh is expected to remain hot and humid in most areas. However, isolated rain and thunderstorms may occur in Tharparkar, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana, Dadu, Jacobabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Qambar Shahdadkot, and Naushahro Feroze on July 7 and 8.

The PMD has advised people living in affected areas to stay informed about the latest weather updates. Residents should also remain cautious during periods of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds, especially in areas vulnerable to flooding or travel disruptions.
