Total Investment: This ambitious package amounts to approximately Rs. 400 billion, aimed at revitalizing Punjab’s agricultural sector and uplifting its farmers.

The Provincial Minister for Agriculture emphasized that within just 21 days of assuming office, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz initiated 26 major developmental projects. The government has devised a comprehensive program for agricultural development within about two and a half months. The agricultural package introduced by Chief Minister Punjab promises a prosperous future for farmers, as it will lead to modern agriculture practices, enhanced machinery utilization, and increased milk and meat production in Punjab.

Efforts are being made to achieve agricultural self-sufficiency, which will significantly aid in curbing inflation. Maryam Nawaz has launched a groundbreaking project for farmer cards, offering interest-free loans to 500,000 farmers in the initial phase. Each farmer with less than 5 acres of land will receive Rs0.15 million, totaling Rs15 billion in interest-free loans for half a million farmers in one year.

Moreover, new research centers are being established to enhance wheat, cotton, and rice production, along with efforts to improve livestock through the latest embryo labs. Additionally, 25 new mobile dispensaries equipped with modern facilities, including ultrasound machines, will be launched in 25 districts to improve farmers’ and crop conditions. To further support farmers and crops, modern machinery, including super seeders and shredder machines, will be imported for 5,000 farmers in Punjab, with plans to distribute 8 to 10 thousand machines through a lucky draw in the initial phase.
