Note: The revised charges apply only to importers and do not affect end consumers who have already completed PTA approval or paid the required taxes.
Customs valuation for several smartphone brands has once again been revised by the Federal Board of Revenue, just a few months after the previous update in January 2026. As a result, import-related duties, commonly referred to as “PTA tax” have increased, making imported used and older-generation smartphones more expensive in the local market.
Following earlier updates for the iPhone 15 series, attention has now shifted to the iPhone 14 lineup, which includes the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, no revised changes have been reported yet for the iPhone 14 Plus model.
Based on the newly adjusted customs values, updated PTA tax figures have been calculated for each device. The latest revision shows an increase across most models when compared to the earlier January 2026 rates.
| Model | Old CNIC Tax | New CNIC Tax | Old Passport Tax | New Passport Tax |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone 14 | Rs. 27,045 | Rs. 30,321 | Rs. 24,584 | Rs. 27,860 |
| iPhone 14 Pro | Rs. 31,077 | Rs. 34,101 | Rs. 28,616 | Rs. 31,640 |
| iPhone 14 Pro Max | Rs. 45,564 | Rs. 48,235 | Rs. 39,944 | Rs. 42,615 |
These adjustments are linked to updated customs valuations, which have also been revised for multiple smartphone brands, including changes in benchmark values used for tax calculations. For example, older valuation references for models like the Samsung Galaxy S23 series have also been increased, contributing to higher overall import duties.
