The All Pakistan Private Schools Association (All Pakistan Private Schools Association) has announced that it will challenge the Punjab government’s decision regarding early Summer Vacations in court.
The decision to start Summer Vacations earlier than scheduled has triggered concern among private school owners. The association discussed the issue in an emergency meeting held in Islamabad’s F-8 sector.
Members of the association said the policy could negatively affect the education system. They argued that early Summer Vacations may interrupt academic progress and reduce learning time for students.
Concerns Over Academic Loss
Association leaders expressed worry about students’ studies. They said frequent or extended school closures can harm education quality.
Dr Abrar Hussain, central president of the association, spoke after the meeting. He said early Summer Vacations could damage students’ academic performance.
He added that repeated closures may also increase the number of out-of-school children. This, he said, could create long-term challenges for the education sector.
Warning of Legal Action
The association has confirmed that it is preparing to take legal action. APPSA stated that it will approach the court against the decision on Summer Vacations.
Dr Abrar Hussain said private schools cannot accept any policy that affects student learning. He emphasized that education should remain a priority in government decisions.
He also warned that continued disruptions in the academic calendar may create serious gaps in student learning.
Call for Policy Review
The association has urged both federal and provincial authorities to reconsider the decision. They suggested that school policies should be planned carefully to avoid academic disruption.
Members also proposed that schools in residential areas should be allowed to operate without unnecessary restrictions. They believe this can help reduce learning loss during Summer Vacations.
Growing Debate in Education Sector
The issue of early Summer Vacations has sparked debate among education stakeholders. Many believe that sudden changes in school schedules affect students and teachers.
