In an interview, Sethi stated that the PCB could lose $3 million if they boycott the Asia Cup and World Cup, and their relationship with the ICC could deteriorate.
Najam Sethi went on to say that any match between Pakistan and India in a major event is significant for the ICC, and boycotting it could cause problems for both countries.

“In terms of finances, in my opinion, in the past, the PCB was dependent on money from the ICC, so we had to agree to their terms,” Najam Sethi added.
However, Sethi emphasised that the Pakistan Super League has rendered the PCB financially independent, as it provides the same amount as the PCB receives from the ICC.
Sethi went on to say that they are aware that the people do not want the team to visit India for the World Cup unless India visits Pakistan for the Asia Cup.
It is important to note that, despite several discussions at ICC and ACC meetings, cricketing relations between neighbouring countries have deteriorated.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
