Pakistan To Experience Additional Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Soon

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued forecasts predicting rain, dust storms, and thunderstorms across various parts of the country during the upcoming weekend. These weather phenomena are expected to impact several regions, including major cities, with higher daytime temperatures anticipated due to elevated pressure in the upper atmosphere, particularly in the southern half of Pakistan.

As per a PMD representative, a westerly wave is set to enter the western regions of Pakistan on May 10, progressing towards the northern areas by the subsequent day. This weather system is likely to persist until Friday, resulting in daytime temperatures rising 3-5°C above normal levels.

The forthcoming weather conditions are projected to bring rain, dust storms, and thunderstorms to numerous areas from May 10 to May 12. Regions such as Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum in the north are expected to be affected. In the south, including Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalpur, similar weather patterns are foreseen for May 10-11.

Furthermore, isolated hailstorms may occur in specific areas during this period, posing potential risks to agricultural activities and public safety. Farmers are advised to adjust their irrigation schedules and wheat harvesting plans accordingly to mitigate any negative impacts.

The public is urged to minimize exposure to direct sunlight and to remain cautious of windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning, which could disrupt daily activities and pose risks to infrastructure and personal property. Staying informed about weather updates and following precautionary measures is crucial to ensure safety and reduce potential damages associated with the forecasted weather events.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
