Pakistan has launched Punjab land record services for overseas citizens living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The new facility aims to make property services easier for expatriates.
The service was introduced through Pakistan’s diplomatic missions in the UAE. It allows overseas Pakistanis to access important land and property records without returning to Pakistan.
The Pakistani embassy in Abu Dhabi announced the development on Tuesday. It described the initiative as an important step toward improving services for expatriate communities.
The UAE is home to more than 1.5 million Pakistani expatriates. These citizens also play an important role in Pakistan’s economy through remittances.
According to the embassy, Pakistani expatriates in the UAE send more than $5 billion annually. The new service could make property-related matters more convenient for this large community.
Under the new arrangement, land record services are available at two Pakistani missions. These include the embassy in Abu Dhabi and the consulate general in Dubai.
Both missions have already started issuing fards. A fard is an official document showing land ownership details.
The availability of fards confirms that the service is now operational. Overseas Pakistanis can therefore access Punjab land ownership records through the diplomatic missions.
The initiative is designed to provide a more convenient process for expatriates. It also aims to improve transparency and efficiency in land record services.
Previously, overseas citizens often needed to travel to Pakistan for certain property-related matters. The new facility can help reduce the need for such trips.
