Pakistan Security Forces Kill 29 Terrorists in Operation

Pakistan’s security forces have killed 29 terrorists belonging to Jamaat ul Ahrar and Fitna al Khwarij during a series of intelligence-based operations carried out along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. According to Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, the operation included a well-planned ground assault followed by precision strikes targeting militant hideouts and safe havens in the border region. The action was conducted as part of the country’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign to eliminate terrorist threats.

In a statement shared on X, Attaullah Tarar said the operation was launched following several recent terrorist attacks targeting civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, as well as the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp in Karachi. He said security forces acted on credible intelligence to locate and engage militant groups responsible for planning and supporting attacks inside Pakistan.

According to the minister, on June 28, 2026, security forces carried out an intelligence-based ground operation near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the operation, forces engaged a group of militants in a precise operation that resulted in the killing of a high-value commander identified as Khan Farosh, also known as Zabal, along with three other terrorists linked to Jamaat ul Ahrar. Several additional militants were reported injured during the encounter.

The statement added that, in continuation of Operation Ghazb Lil Haq, Pakistan also conducted precision strikes during the night of June 28 and 29 against terrorist camps and hideouts based on credible intelligence. Three targets located in the border regions of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar were successfully destroyed. According to the government, the strikes killed 25 more terrorists and destroyed large quantities of weapons, ammunition, and logistical supplies stored at the militant facilities.

The government said Pakistan remains committed to maintaining peace and stability in the region but will continue taking necessary measures to safeguard its national security. Officials emphasized that protecting the lives of Pakistani citizens remains the country’s highest priority and that action against terrorist groups will continue whenever credible intelligence is available.

Attaullah Tarar reaffirmed that Pakistan’s nationwide counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace. He said the country’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain determined to eliminate terrorism and dismantle networks that threaten Pakistan’s peace and security through coordinated intelligence-based operations.
