The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced admissions for its Community Midwifery Training Course. The program is designed to prepare young women for careers in maternal and community healthcare while helping improve healthcare services across Karachi.
According to the official announcement, interested candidates can collect and submit application forms at the principals’ offices of the respective midwifery schools during official working hours. The last date for submitting applications is August 10, 2026.
The KMC is offering admissions through five affiliated midwifery schools located in different areas of Karachi. These institutions will provide academic training along with practical clinical experience for successful applicants.
The participating institutions include the KMC Midwifery School in New Karachi, CDGK Sartaj Bano School of Midwifery in Soldier Bazaar, Khadijatul Kubra School of Midwifery in Pak Colony, Gizri Maternity Home and School of Midwifery on Gizri Road, and Sobhraj Maternity Hospital Midwifery School in Urdu Bazaar.
As part of the program, students will complete clinical attachments at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Sobhraj Maternity Hospital, and Gizri Maternity Hospital. These placements are intended to provide practical experience in maternal and child healthcare under professional supervision.
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria set by the corporation. Candidates should have passed Matriculation, preferably with Science, and obtained at least 40 percent marks. The program is open to applicants between 15 and 35 years of age.
Candidates are also required to possess a valid Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC). In addition, applicants must hold a Karachi domicile issued in Sindh to qualify for admission.
The KMC has announced the admission schedule for the selection process. A written test will be conducted on August 15, 2026, at 11:00 am at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Candidates who successfully pass the written examination will be invited for interviews. The interviews are scheduled for August 20, 2026, at 11:00 am, also at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
The corporation described the training course as an opportunity for women to build rewarding careers while serving their communities. Qualified midwives play an important role in supporting pregnant women, assisting during childbirth, and providing postnatal care for mothers and newborns.
The program is expected to strengthen maternal and community healthcare services by preparing skilled healthcare professionals. Graduates will gain both classroom knowledge and hands-on clinical experience during the training period.
