Pakistan has issued visas to 737 Sikh pilgrims from India, allowing them to participate in the annual religious observances held in honor of Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
According to the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, the pilgrimage will take place from June 10 to June 19, 2026. During their stay, the pilgrims will visit several important Sikh religious sites located across Pakistan and take part in various spiritual ceremonies.
The High Commission stated that the issuance of visas reflects Pakistan’s continued efforts to facilitate religious tourism and support the spiritual needs of the Sikh community. Officials said the initiative enables devotees to fulfill their religious obligations and participate in ceremonies associated with one of Sikhism’s most revered figures.
Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, holds a special place in Sikh history and is remembered annually through religious gatherings and commemorative events. Pilgrims from India and other countries often travel to Pakistan to visit historical gurdwaras linked to Sikh heritage and faith.
The visiting pilgrims are expected to attend prayer services, religious congregations, and other events organized at key Sikh shrines during the pilgrimage period. Authorities have also made arrangements to facilitate their travel and stay at designated locations.
Pakistan has consistently welcomed Sikh pilgrims from India for important religious occasions under established pilgrimage arrangements. Every year, thousands of devotees visit the country to attend events related to Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, and other significant figures in Sikh history.
Officials noted that these visits play an important role in strengthening people-to-people connections and promoting interfaith understanding. The government has also taken steps in recent years to improve facilities at religious sites and make pilgrimage travel more convenient for visitors.
The latest issuance of visas to 737 Indian Sikh pilgrims highlights Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to preserving religious heritage and providing opportunities for members of different faiths to visit their sacred places. The pilgrimage is expected to contribute to cultural exchange and reinforce the importance of religious harmony in the region.
