Hina Munawar Appointed as First Female Operations Manager for Pakistan Men's Cricket Team

In a historic move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Hina Munawar as the first-ever female operations manager for the national men’s cricket team. Munawar, an experienced police officer with a robust background in operations and security, will oversee team operations for the upcoming Champions Trophy and Tri-Nation Series, which will kick off in Karachi on February 19.

With extensive experience in the Frontier Constabulary in Swat and a background in law enforcement, Munawar has already made significant strides in the sports sector, having previously served as the manager for the Pakistan Women’s Under-19 squad during the Asia Cup. Her appointment marks a significant milestone for both gender inclusion in sports and for her personal career.

Hina Munawar, who passed the Civil Superior Services (CSS) examination, has a history of successfully handling security and operational roles. Despite her serving role in the Pakistan Police Service, it is believed that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi brought her in on deputation to strengthen the team’s operational structure.

Though veteran bureaucrat Naveed Akram Cheema remains the official team manager, Munawar’s role will focus on enhancing communication between the players and the board, streamlining operations, and ensuring the smooth execution of logistics during the team’s upcoming engagements.
