Pakistani students can apply for the President’s PhD Scholarship 2027-28 at Imperial College London in the United Kingdom. The fully funded scholarship is open to applicants from around the world and has no nationality restriction.
Imperial College London will offer 50 scholarships to high-performing PhD applicants. Selected scholars will receive full tuition fee coverage for 3.5 years, along with an annual living-cost stipend of £27,036.
In addition to tuition and living support, scholars will receive £2,000 per year for research consumables during the first three years of their PhD. The scholarship also provides access to training and development opportunities through Imperial’s Early Career Researcher Institute.
Both UK and international students are eligible to apply. The scholarship is available for new PhD applicants, including candidates applying for full-time or part-time doctoral study. Students who are already registered for a PhD at Imperial College London are not eligible.
Successful candidates can begin their PhD between August 1 and November 1, 2027. Applicants must also meet the admission requirements of their chosen department and PhD programme.
Candidates are generally expected to have a strong academic record. Applicants normally need a first-class undergraduate degree or integrated Master’s qualification, or an equivalent qualification. Those applying with a standalone Master’s degree are generally expected to have achieved a distinction.
One of the important requirements is finding an eligible Imperial academic who agrees to supervise the proposed research. Applicants should identify a potential supervisor whose research expertise matches their proposed project and contact them before submitting their application.
Imperial’s selection process considers academic performance and research potential. Academic results, transcripts, awards, research experience and the quality of the proposed research may all be considered. Departments may also conduct interviews or other academic assessments before selecting candidates for scholarship consideration.
There is no separate scholarship application form. Candidates must first secure the agreement of an eligible academic supervisor and then submit a PhD admission application through Imperial’s online admissions system. Applicants should select the President’s PhD Scholarship option in the funding section.
Applications for the 2027-28 intake will be considered in three rounds. The first deadline is November 2, 2026, while the second deadline is January 11, 2027. The final deadline is March 1, 2027.
Applicants should contact potential supervisors early and prepare their academic documents before the relevant deadline. Candidates who are not selected for the President’s PhD Scholarship may still be considered for a regular PhD place at Imperial College London.
