Information from submissions to the Election Commission has exposed the financial holdings of key figures within Pakistan’s interim government.

As per records, Anwarul Haq Kakar, the Caretaker Prime Minister, possesses assets valued at more than Rs 48 million, although notably less than his ministerial counterparts. The majority of his wealth is tied to 20 acres of inherited agricultural land, shares in Pakistan Chagai Mining Limited, gold holdings, and bank deposits totaling over Rs 20.20 million.

Interior Minister Sarfarar Bugti emerges as a significant property owner with residences in various cities, including a 2-kanal house in Multan, a Multan United Mall flat, a house in Islamabad valued at Rs 3.12 million, and a Quetta plot valued at Rs 10 million. Bugti’s disclosed assets extend to livestock ownership, including 90 camels, over 8,800 sheep, 4,060 goats, 400 cows, 80 calves, and 86 buffaloes. Additionally, he holds shares in Bugti CNG Sui and significant cash, bank deposits, a car, and furniture.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar is revealed to be a billionaire, with assets surpassing Rs 3 billion. Her diverse portfolio includes shares in Naya Pakistan Certificate, PSO shares worth over Rs 2 billion, substantial investments in banks, T-bills, and TDR, along with real estate in Karachi. Akhtar’s disclosed assets encompass minimal gold, substantial cash, and bank holdings, with the value of her furniture amounting to Rs 200,000.

Interim Information Minister Murtaza Solangi has disclosed assets such as a house worth Rs 10.27 million in his wife’s name, two houses, a car, gold holdings, and liquid assets. The information minister and his wife collectively possess Rs 4.4 million in cash and around Rs 500,000 in banks.
