A strong heatwave continued to affect Lahore over the weekend as temperatures remained extremely high across the city. According to the latest weather data, Lahore recorded a temperature of around 40°C under intense sunshine, while the RealFeel temperature climbed close to 42°C, making outdoor conditions even more uncomfortable for residents.
Even in shaded areas, temperatures felt near 38°C, showing that the ongoing heatwave is creating serious heat stress throughout the city. Weather officials reported humidity levels between 30 and 40 percent, both outdoors and indoors, causing slightly humid conditions alongside the intense heat.
The dew point was recorded at 13°C, while atmospheric pressure remained stable at 1002 millibars. Winds continued blowing from the west at around 17 kilometers per hour, with gusts reaching nearly 19 kilometers per hour during the afternoon. The UV Index was measured at 4.8, which falls under the moderate category.
According to the national weather outlook, continental air is currently dominating most parts of Pakistan, keeping weather conditions hot and dry across the country. However, meteorologists said a shallow westerly weather system is expected to enter the upper regions starting tomorrow.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that the heatwave is likely to continue in most areas, especially in southern and central regions where temperatures may remain extremely high. Some districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could experience partly cloudy conditions along with rain, gusty winds, and thunderstorms during evening and nighttime hours.
For Punjab, weather experts expect hot and dry conditions to persist on Monday, particularly in central and southern districts where the heatwave may intensify further. Meanwhile, hill stations including Murree and Galliyat are expected to remain mostly dry during the day, although isolated thunderstorms may occur later in the evening.
Authorities have advised citizens to limit outdoor activities during afternoon hours, drink plenty of water, and take precautions against heatwave-related illnesses as temperatures continue to stay above normal seasonal levels.
