Employers can face 6 months Jail and huge fine for not granting maternity and Paternity leaves

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]President Dr. Arif Alvi has signed an important bill, the Maternity and Paternity Leave Bill of 2023.

The measure provides three periods of maternity leave to female federal employees working in public and private departments.

The first instance of leave is for 180 days, the second instance is for 120 days, and the third instance is for 90 days.

Female employees will be paid in full during maternity leave.

Male employees will also be entitled to 30 days of paternity leave in three cases.

Noncompliance with these requirements may result in up to six months in prison or a fine of up to Rs100,000, or both.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
