China is set to enhance air connectivity with Pakistan as China Southern Airlines increases flights between Guangzhou and Lahore. From January 1, the airline will operate daily flights on the route using an Airbus A330 aircraft.
Currently, China Southern Airlines operates five weekly flights between Guangzhou and Lahore with a Boeing 787. The move to daily services is expected to improve travel convenience and seating capacity for business travelers, tourists, and students.
Officials said the increased flights would also support growing trade ties and people-to-people exchanges between Pakistan and China. The expanded schedule aims to meet rising demand for travel between the two countries, which have seen stronger economic and cultural cooperation in recent years.
In addition, air connectivity between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is also improving. From January 20, Sri Lanka’s low-cost carrier FitsAir will launch twice-weekly flights between Colombo and Lahore, operating every Tuesday and Saturday with an Airbus A320.
Experts noted that these new and expanded services would offer more flexible travel options and support regional tourism and business. Airlines are expected to provide better schedules, increased seating, and improved logistics for travelers.
The enhanced air links reflect broader regional efforts to strengthen economic and cultural relations between China, Pakistan, and South Asia. Improved flights are likely to boost tourism, facilitate trade, and promote stronger collaboration across countries.
Passengers are advised to check schedules and book tickets early, as high demand is expected in the early months of 2026. With China Southern Airlines expanding its services and FitsAir introducing new flights, air travel in the region is set to become more efficient and accessible.
