The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a major recruitment drive, creating new jobs for low-educated and unemployed individuals across the province. This initiative aims to provide employment opportunities while strengthening security measures in schools throughout KP.
According to government officials, the provincial administration has approved the hiring of 2,800 chowkidars (watchmen) to be deployed in schools across 28 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The move comes as part of the government’s broader strategy to generate jobs for local communities while ensuring the safety and security of educational institutions.
The Finance Department of KP has confirmed that formal approval has been granted to fill these vacant positions in schools. All appointments will follow a transparent process, including public advertisements, open competition, and strict adherence to merit-based selection. Authorities emphasized that the recruitment process will be fair, providing equal opportunities for eligible candidates across the province.
Mansehra district has been allocated the highest number of positions, with 377 chowkidar posts approved. Bannu has been assigned 263 positions, while Mardan will receive 256 jobs under this new plan. Peshawar has 162 chowkidar vacancies, Laki Marwat 160, and Abbottabad 154, ensuring that all regions of KP benefit from this employment initiative.
Officials noted that the government’s focus is not only on providing jobs but also on enhancing the security of schools, creating a safer environment for students and staff alike. By offering these positions, the KP government aims to reduce unemployment in the province while supporting public education institutions.
