The UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Islamabad on Friday for his first official visit to Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, received the UAE President at Noor Khan Airbase. A guard of honour and a 21-gun salute were presented to the visiting dignitary.
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) aircraft escorted the UAE President’s plane as it entered Pakistani airspace, emphasizing the importance of the visit. The UAE President was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers and senior officials.
During his stay, the UAE President will hold meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to review bilateral relations. The talks will also cover regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Officials said the visit provides an important opportunity to strengthen the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. Both countries have maintained close diplomatic, economic, and strategic ties for decades.
The UAE President will meet members of Pakistan’s federal cabinet during his visit. These interactions aim to promote trade, investment, and collaborative projects between the two nations.
