Which Islamabad Roads Will be Closed Tomorrow

ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad Police have issued an important traffic advisory for residents and commuters ahead of December 26, 2025, alerting them about planned diversions due to a special program. Authorities have highlighted that traffic on key city routes, including the Express Highway and Murree Road/Club Road, will be affected between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and commuters should plan their journeys accordingly to avoid delays.

The police have advised travelers approaching the Express Highway from Rawat to use the Rawat–Rawalpindi Peshawar Road as an alternate route. This precaution is aimed at reducing congestion and ensuring smoother traffic flow during the designated hours. Similarly, motorists coming toward the Express Highway from IJP Road or Srinagar Highway have been encouraged to take inner-city service roads to bypass the affected areas.

Authorities have also recommended that citizens leave with an additional 20 to 25 minutes of travel time to account for potential delays caused by the diversions. Islamabad Traffic Police personnel will be deployed at strategic points across the city to facilitate traffic management, provide guidance, and ensure public safety during the event.

For any assistance or real-time updates, residents can contact the Islamabad Traffic Helpline at 1915 or PUKAAR 15. Police have also urged all road users to strictly follow traffic rules and cooperate with officers on duty. Adhering to these guidelines is expected to maintain smooth traffic flow, prevent unnecessary congestion, and reduce the risk of accidents.

By taking these precautions, commuters can ensure their travel remains safe and efficient despite the temporary disruptions. The advisory emphasizes the importance of planning ahead, using alternate routes, and being mindful of traffic regulations during high-traffic events in the capital. Islamabad Police remain committed to assisting citizens and minimizing inconvenience during such situations.
