Islamabad Authorities Take Strong Action, Reclaim Billions in Land

Islamabad’s Capital Development Authority (CDA), in coordination with the Islamabad District Administration, has recovered state land worth nearly Rs. 200 billion during a major anti-encroachment drive.

The operation focused on long-standing illegal constructions in Muslim Colony. Officials reported that enforcement teams reclaimed 712 kanals of government land previously occupied by private individuals. Several unlawful houses and structures were demolished to restore land reserved for public use and future development projects.

Prior Notices and Warnings

Before launching the operation, CDA issued multiple notices urging residents to vacate the encroached land. Loudspeaker announcements were also made in the days leading up to the action. Despite these warnings, illegal construction continued, forcing authorities to move forward with demolition.

Legal Supervision and Coordination

The drive was supervised by the COMCI to ensure coordinated action and compliance with legal procedures. CDA stressed that enforcement teams acted strictly within the law and allowed sufficient time for voluntary evacuation before demolitions began.

Call for Public Cooperation

Officials urged residents to cooperate with authorities and warned that illegal construction would not be tolerated in Islamabad. The CDA emphasized that such operations are crucial to protect public resources and ensure orderly urban development.

Authorities confirmed that similar anti-encroachment drives will continue across Islamabad to reclaim government land and facilitate planned infrastructure and public amenity projects.

Urban Planning and Future Development

The reclaimed land will be used for infrastructure development, public facilities, and other government projects. CDA said the operation demonstrates Islamabad’s commitment to enforcing the law, maintaining organized urban growth, and safeguarding state assets.
