PSL to Add Gilgit and Faisalabad Franchises from Next Season

The Pakistan Super League is set to expand with two new teams, as officials confirm the inclusion of Gilgit and Faisalabad franchises for the upcoming season.

League sources say the decision follows months of planning aimed at widening the PSL’s national footprint and tapping into passionate cricket fan bases in both cities.

Gilgit’s entry is being hailed as a landmark moment, bringing top-tier cricket to the northern region and offering new opportunities for young talent from the mountains.

Faisalabad, a city with deep cricketing roots, is expected to instantly boost competition, with strong local support already building for the new franchise.

PSL management believes expanding to eight teams will enhance viewership, increase commercial value, and deliver a more competitive tournament structure for fans.

Officials noted that final branding, squad selections, and player drafts for both teams will be unveiled in the coming weeks ahead of the new season.
