Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Spain on winning the FIFA World Cup 2026, praising the national team for its impressive performance throughout the tournament.
In a message shared on the social media platform X on Monday, the prime minister said Spain fully deserved the title after demonstrating outstanding skill, discipline, unity, and teamwork during the competition. He appreciated the team’s consistency and determination, which helped it secure football’s biggest international trophy.
PM Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated US President Donald Trump and the people of the United States for successfully hosting the historic tournament. He praised the arrangements made for the event and acknowledged the efforts taken to ensure the competition was organized smoothly.
The prime minister further expressed appreciation for the governments and people of Mexico and Canada, who partnered with the United States to host the FIFA World Cup 2026. He said the three countries had worked together effectively and delivered the tournament with distinction.
Shehbaz Sharif also commended FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the entire FIFA organizing team for successfully managing the major global sporting event. He said their efforts would further strengthen football’s position as one of the world’s most popular and truly international sports.
