OpenAI is reportedly developing a cutting-edge AI tool capable of generating music from text or audio prompts.
According to tech reports, the system would let users create background scores for videos or even add instrumental layers—like piano or guitar—to vocals. To refine the tool’s musical quality, OpenAI has collaborated with students from the Juilliard School in the U.S., ensuring that the AI learns from expert-level data.
While the company has yet to announce a release date or clarify whether it will be a standalone app or part of ChatGPT, the project has already drawn significant attention.
A key hurdle for OpenAI is avoiding copyright violations, a problem that has troubled other AI music startups in the past. Nonetheless, the team remains focused on responsibly pushing creative boundaries, aiming to make AI-generated music both accessible and legally sound for global creators.
