The nationwide MDCAT 2025 exam is taking place today, with over 140,000 candidates competing for MBBS and BDS seats across Pakistan and at an international centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The high-stakes test is being held at 32 locations under the supervision of five major universities, including UHS Lahore, KMU Peshawar, and SZABMU Islamabad.
Officials have ensured strict measures for transparency and security, including the installation of signal jammers, controlled entry, and comfortable facilities for students. The official answer key will be released immediately after the exam, with results expected within a week. Candidates may request a recheck within three days of result declaration.
In Punjab, security has been heightened, with question papers delivered under armed escort. A special meeting chaired by Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood Khan confirmed that UHS is conducting the test in 27 centres across 12 cities.
Lahore hosts the largest number of candidates — over 50,000 — at key venues such as Punjab University, LCWU, and DPS Township. A command and control centre has been established at UHS, overseen by Vice Chancellor Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore, with a dedicated helpline for real-time monitoring.
Mobile phones are banned, invigilators specially trained, and Section 144 imposed around exam venues. Police, ambulances, and medical teams are on standby to ensure smooth and safe conduct of the test.
