Indian Punjabi Cinema Comedian Actor Jaswinder Bhalla Dies (1)

Veteran Punjabi actor and comedy legend Jaswinder Bhalla passed away on Friday at the age of 65.

He died early in the morning at Fortis Hospital in Mohali, according to hospital officials. His funeral will take place on Saturday at the Balongi crematorium in Mohali.

Bhalla was one of the most loved figures in Punjabi cinema. He was widely known for his unique comedy style, sharp timing, and unforgettable characters.

His career in entertainment began with stage performances and comedy albums during the 1980s and 1990s. These early works helped him build a strong fan base across Punjab and beyond.

Bhalla made his film debut with “Dulha Bhatti” and also appeared in the 1999 Hindi satire “Mahaul Theek Hai” by Jaspal Bhatti. Over the years, he became a key figure in Punjabi blockbusters such as “Jatt & Juliet,” “Sardarji,” and the popular “Carry On Jatta” series.

His role as Advocate Dhillon in “Carry On Jatta” became one of his most iconic performances. Known for delivering witty one-liners, Bhalla brought laughter to audiences in every scene he appeared in.

His work helped shape modern Punjabi comedy, making him a household name for nearly three decades. Even in supporting roles, his presence added humor and charm to the screen.

Bhalla is survived by his wife, Paramdeep, a fine arts teacher in Chandigarh, and their son, Pukhraj Bhalla. Pukhraj followed in his father’s footsteps, starting with music videos before entering films. The father-son duo appeared together in the 2013 film “Stupid 7.”

Fans and fellow artists have expressed deep sorrow over his death. Many praised his role in taking Punjabi comedy to new heights.

Jaswinder Bhalla’s legacy in comedy will live on, continuing to inspire the next generation of actors and entertainers.
