ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan armed forces will open a special defence equipment exhibition for the public tomorrow at Shakarparian Parade Ground. The event is part of the Independence Day celebrations and marks the victory in Marka-e-Haq.
The exhibition will start at 10 a.m. and will feature a wide range of military hardware. Visitors will see weapons, tanks, aircraft, artillery, rocket launchers, armoured carriers, and military vehicles. Radars that played a key role in Marka-e-Haq will also be on display.
The Pakistan Air Force will conduct a fly-past and a para-jumping demonstration during the event. The display aims to highlight the capabilities of the country’s defence forces and commemorate historic achievements.
A day earlier, a grand ceremony was held at Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad. President Asif Ali Zardari attended as the chief guest, along with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the heads of the three armed forces. Military contingents from Türkiye and Azerbaijan also took part in the celebrations.
The stadium event featured cultural performances, a parade by the armed forces, and another fly-past. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister unveiled the Marka-e-Haq Monument to honour the nation’s military success.
A large number of national and foreign dignitaries attended the celebrations, which aimed to showcase unity, strength, and friendship with allied nations. Organisers expect strong public participation tomorrow at the Shakarparian display, with families and defence enthusiasts attending in large numbers.
The public exhibition is set to be one of the key highlights of this year’s Independence Day activities. It reflects Pakistan’s military strength while also paying tribute to the sacrifices of its armed forces in defending the country.
