Lahore Railway Station Undergoes Significant Modernization Work

Pakistan Railways has completed key upgrades at Lahore Railway Station to enhance services for passengers. The improvements aim to provide more comfort and ease for travelers visiting one of the country’s busiest train stations.

Following the instructions of Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, new facilities have been introduced to improve accessibility. A new lounge for Commercially Important Persons (CIP) has been opened. It can seat 70 premium passengers and business travelers.

Two air-conditioned waiting halls have also been added. These can hold up to 250 passengers. Separate sections have been created for families (100 seats), women (70 seats), and men (80 seats) to ensure a comfortable environment for everyone.

Platforms 2 and 4 now have water coolers to offer clean drinking water. In addition, four escalators have been installed at these platforms. They are meant to help elderly people, women, and passengers carrying luggage.

The commercial area of the Lahore station has also been upgraded. Six new fiber-based stalls are now available to provide more shopping options. The main porch area has been turned into a family waiting zone. It now includes air conditioners, updated restrooms, and a large LED screen showing train updates.

A new ATM from Habib Bank has been installed. Passengers can now get live updates on train arrivals and departures through digital screens placed around the station.

Lahore is a major hub in Pakistan’s rail network, and these updates are part of Pakistan Railways’ broader plan to modernize its services. The focus is on providing a better travel experience through clean facilities, smart services, and better crowd management.

Travelers have welcomed these changes and hope similar upgrades will be made at other stations across the country.
