Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur has given a 90-day deadline for the release of jailed ex-PM and PTI founder Imran Khan, warning that any crackdown on party workers would be met with a strong reaction.
Speaking at a PTI parliamentary meeting on Saturday night, Gandapur said the party won’t stay silent if its leaders are continuously targeted. “If you attack us, expect a similar response. If Imran Khan isn’t released within 90 days, one of us won’t remain. He’s being held without any legitimate charges and will be with us on the 90th day,” he declared.

Gandapur also criticized JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for suggesting a move to topple the KP government. He accused Fazl of having a “fake mandate” and said he lacked the moral authority to speak against an elected government. “Focus on fixing yourself instead of conspiring against us. This government was earned by the people, not gifted by you,” he said.
Regarding the suspension of PTI lawmakers in the Punjab Assembly, Gandapur condemned it as unlawful and politically driven. He warned that PTI could retaliate by removing opposition-backed committee chairmen in KP if such actions persisted.
The speech marks a significant escalation in PTI’s stance as it continues demanding Imran Khan’s release and pushes back against actions it sees as politically motivated.
