Pakistan Announces 500 Scholarships for Bangladeshi Students

Pakistan has announced 500 scholarships for students from Bangladesh under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative. The scholarships will be offered over the next five years to strengthen educational cooperation between the two countries.

Officials said the initiative reflects Pakistan’s efforts to improve academic and diplomatic relations with Bangladesh. The program is aimed at increasing educational exchanges and building stronger regional connections.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor was first announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar during his visit to Bangladesh in August 2025.

The Foreign Office said the second phase of the initiative was launched in Dhaka on May 10, 2026. The latest phase focuses on educational partnerships and student collaboration.

During the visit, delegates will meet academic officials and discuss opportunities for future cooperation. The exchange program is designed to improve academic understanding between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The scholarship initiative will allow Bangladeshi students to pursue higher education in Pakistan in different academic fields. Authorities believe the program will help create stronger links between universities in both countries.

The Foreign Office said Pakistan is committed to expanding cooperation in education, culture, and diplomacy. Officials described education as an important area for long-term regional partnership.

According to the statement, Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction over the positive development in bilateral relations. He said recent engagement between Pakistan and Bangladesh has helped improve communication and cooperation.
