Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed PTI leadership to launch an anti-government movement after the 10th of Muharram, as revealed by his sister Aleema Khan during a media briefing outside Adiala Jail.

Aleema, accompanied by her sisters, said they were allowed to meet Imran for only 15 minutes, while lawyer Zaheer Abbas had a brief 1.5-minute interaction. Other legal counsels, including Salman Safdar, Salman Akram Raja, and Niazullah Niazi, were not permitted to see him.

Quoting Imran, Aleema said these restrictions were part of a broader plan to sideline him politically. He criticized the 26th Constitutional Amendment, calling it a gateway to what he described as de facto martial law, and warned that dismissing stolen votes erodes the rule of law.

Imran also condemned media censorship and questioned the legitimacy of those currently in assemblies, stating they weren’t elected through fair means. He expressed concern over the proposed 27th amendment, claiming it would effectively silence public opinion and likened the situation to a form of national enslavement—saying he would prefer remaining in jail over living under such conditions.

Aleema added that Imran praised PTI’s stance in the Punjab Assembly and encouraged parallel sessions if restricted members are barred from participation. Through lawyer Salman Akram Raja, Imran conveyed his instructions to the party to begin mobilizing for a movement after Ashura.

She also alleged that Imran is being held in solitary confinement, denied books, and kept locked for 22 hours a day. A formal protest plan, she said, will be announced after Muharram 10.
