Auto Financing in Pakistan reached a record Rs. 386 billion in July 2026. The latest figure marks a major increase in vehicle borrowing.
According to State Bank of Pakistan data, auto financing rose 35.2 percent year over year. It stood at Rs. 286 billion in July 2025.
The July figure is the highest level recorded in Pakistan so far. The previous record was reached in June 2026.
On a monthly basis, auto financing also increased during July. It rose 1.2 percent compared with June.
Auto Financing Shows Strong Annual Growth
The latest figures indicate stronger demand for vehicle financing. Auto Financing has continued to increase after reaching previous record levels.
Earlier data also showed sustained growth in automobile loans. Financing had already reached Rs. 369.12 billion in May 2026.
The continued rise suggests that more consumers are using bank financing. Vehicle availability and financing options may support this trend.
However, car prices and borrowing costs remain important factors for buyers. Financing growth does not necessarily mean vehicles have become affordable for everyone.
Private Sector Loans Increase
The latest banking data also showed growth in private sector lending. Loans to the private sector rose 15 percent year over year.
The total reached Rs. 10.9 trillion in July 2026. It was around Rs. 9.5 trillion during the same period last year.
The increase reflects broader growth in bank lending. Businesses and consumers are accessing more credit across different categories.
The rise in private sector loans comes alongside stronger consumer financing. Auto loans are among the major categories showing significant annual growth.
Home Construction Loans Rise
Bank financing for home construction also increased in July. Loans in this category rose 37.2 percent year over year.
The amount reached Rs. 286 billion in July 2026. It was Rs. 263 billion in July 2025.
The increase shows stronger borrowing activity in the housing sector. Housing finance remains another important component of private sector credit.
Credit Card Borrowing Jumps
Credit card loans also recorded strong annual growth. The outstanding amount increased 30.5 percent year over year.
Credit card loans reached Rs. 212 billion in July 2026. They stood at Rs. 163 billion during July 2025.
This represents a significant increase in consumer borrowing. The growth occurred alongside increases in vehicle and housing finance.
What the Latest Figures Show
The latest figures point to stronger credit demand across several areas. Auto Financing recorded the highest level in its history.
The 35.2 percent annual increase is particularly notable. The additional 1.2 percent monthly growth also shows continued momentum.
Earlier reports linked rising vehicle financing with recovering consumer demand. Lower borrowing costs and promotional financing have also supported vehicle purchases.
Pakistan’s banking sector is therefore seeing growth across multiple lending categories. Vehicle loans, housing finance, and credit card borrowing all increased.
The latest data provides a snapshot of credit activity during July. Future trends will depend on consumer demand and broader economic conditions.
